Technology giant apple today announced that it will produce one million transparent face shield a week for health care workers fighting the 2019 coronavirus-19 pandemic.

Apple chief executive Tim Cook posted a video on twitter today saying that Apple has acquired 20 million medical masks from all over the world to help cope with the global shortage of masks, AFP reported.

In addition, he said, Apple also designed its own transparent face shield, which has been mass produced in Apple's factories in the United States and China. We plan to ship more than a million transparent face shields by the end of this week, Cook said. He said the face field will be distributed across the United States initially, but Apple hopes to expand rapidly to other countries.
